about

This song is about the feeling of fellowship we experienced as we came together on Twyford Down in Hampshire, not just to stop the destruction of one hill for one motorway but to make a stand for the whole earth and its inhabitants and and against the rise and rise of the destructive global industrial/ corporate monster.
It was truly a special time, and these were some the bravest, most compassionate people I had (have) ever met.
Of course, Twyford Down was eventually destroyed after a bitter struggle, but our stand inspired thousands, and ,I believe, continues to do so.

lyrics

As the sun is going down
The horn is made to sound
And the pipe is passed around again

The child begins to tire
More wood goes on the fire
And the flames climb ever higher

This is how it was
And this is how it is
And so it will be forever

The Moon appears to say
Let the drums begin
Throw all your cares away and sing

For the music always was
And the music always is
And the music will play on forever

Come brothers, come sisters
If you are your mother's child
Come one and all
For you all are your mother's child
Feel her love, let not your heart grow cold
Come one and all and sing
We are our mother's child

For the Mother always was
And the Mother always is
And the Mother will be forever
