The Pixie's Hat
03:04
|
|||
As I was walking through the woods today
One of the pixie folk I chanced to spy
And on his little head he wore a tidy piece
Sure I'll have that hat says I
Well it was red and green and it was stitched with gold
It was a handsome sight for to behold
And from the point of it there hung two golden bells
One rang high the other low
Well he then sang a song it was of trees and beasts
It was a magic song to that I'd swear
For as I then leapt out all for to seize the hat
Sure he turned into a hare
Well then away he ran and I took up the chase
And to be sure it was a hardy race
He twisted here and there did that crafty hare
I could not long keep up the pace
Well I was out of breath could hardly take a step
So I sat down upon a fallen tree
And as I tarried there to rest my weary limbs
Sure I quickly fell asleep
When I'd had forty winks about an hour had passed
Before I op'ed my eyes again at last
And there to my surprise before my very eyes
The pixie sat upon the grass
Well how d'ya do says he, says he d'ya want my hat
And it flew off his head and onto mine
The pixie now bows low and then he disappears
Sure he's laughing all the time
Well I felt fine and bold in red and green and gold
I felt a handsome sight for to behold
But then when I got home and down the street did rosm
I was embarrassed to be told
It was made of leaves and stitched with horse's hair
It was a strangely sight for to behold
And from the point of it there hung two acorn shells
A neither made a sound at at all,

A Whisper On The Breeze
05:19
|
|||
A whisper on the breeze
A sigh among the trees
An ancient legend rises from his slumber
New life born of old
The horns of Herne unfold
The Hunter is abroad again
Running with the deer
The Hunter's horn we hear
The stillness of the valley is broken
The guardian of the forest has awoken
Protector of the trees
A face among the leaves
The Hooded Man will draw his bow once more
Clothed all in green
He stalks the woods unseen
But he appears to our dance in Springtime
Sap flows through his veins
His heart of oak is made
In Autumn with the dying leaves he falls
But come the Springtime he will rise up tall
Have you heard the sounding of your name upon the breeze?
Have you heard him calling? For his people are in need
The forests they are falling, will you heed their call?
The forests they are calling for they need us
Else they fall
A mighty oak has grown
Where an acorn he once sowed
Through centuries of storms it has stood firm
Witness to an age
A wise but silent sage
Reaching for the Sun which gives it life
But beauty so long held
Is in an instant felled
The splintering of ancient limbs resounds
And the crown of living green comes crashing down
Have you heard the sounding of your name upon the breeze?
Have you heard him calling? For his people are in need
The forests they are falling, will you heed their call?
The forests they are calling for they need us
Else they fall
Have you heard the sounding of your name upon the breeze?
Have you heard him calling? For his people are in need
The forests they are falling, will you heed their call?
The forests they are calling for they need us
They need us one and all
Else they fall
A whisper on the breeze
A sigh amongst the trees
The people are rising from their slumber

Different Parts
03:32
|
|||
Look at you
You think you've got the answer
That you know the truth
Well who's to say
And what's reality anyway
It's its my opinion that you'll find
There really is no axe to grind
Our destinations just the same
But we're getting there by walking different lanes
O revolution!
Well good luck to you but I think I'll find
My own solution
I don't think we'll lose if we all go the way we choose
I hope that you'd agree with me
That we should love in harmony
That one for all and all for one
Is surely the way for victory to be won
You're your mother's child if you're living in the wild
Or if you stand up to what is wrong
We may be singing different parts
But we're singing the same song
Now's the time
To pull together on our own little section
Of the same old line
Work with me but let me live my own reality
If you're playing music on the streets
Or talking to the folk you meet
If you're standing there obstructing the machines
Or just making sure the countryside stays clean
You're your mother's child....etc
The only way is a lonely way
if that's the way you go
For you see your war is like a big jigsaw
Yours is just one part of the whole
You're your mother's child....etc

A Kiss Goodbye
05:14
|
|||
C G Am
It grieves me to leave you this way or should I say
D7
I told you this would happen someday
C G
If I filled you with some false belief
Am D7 G
Then I hope its within your heart to forgive
So kiss me and wave me goodbye my dear
Hold me and try not to cry
By morning I'll be far away from here
So kiss me and wave me goodbye
I'm back on the road again, back to my roving ways
And I might pass by here some other day
And if we should see eye to eye
Perhaps then things would happen again by and by
So kiss.....etc
G Gmaj7 Em D
I've packed all my things and I'm starting to think
C D7
Of tomorrow and what it will bring
G Gmaj7 Em
Yesterday's gone and the future has come
C D7
We must learn from what's done and carry it on
To I don't know where or when, so many places and faces
I cannot say if or when
I'll be coming back here again, until then
Lets make this the final farewell
So kiss.....etc
I seek out some company when the time's right for me
But with every meeting comes a parting of ways
And it's not always easy for those who come close to me
That's the price for my living this way
So kiss.....etc

Jack- in -the Green
03:50
|
|||
Now Winter is over I'm happy to say
And we're all met again on the first day of May
And we're all met again for to dance and to sing
And to go about dancing with
Jack- in - the- Green, Jack- in - the- Green
And we'll dance every Springtime with Jack- in - the- Green
Now Jack- in - the- Green is a vey strange man
Though he dies every Autumn he is born every Spring
And each year on his birthday we dance through the streets
And in return Jack he will ripen the wheat
With his mantle he'll cover the trees that are bare
And our gardens he'll trim with his jacket so fair
And the fields he will sow with the hair of his head
And the corn it will ripen til old Jack is dead
Now all you young maidens I'll have you beware
Of touching young Jack for there's strange powers there
Happen they do touch him, so many do
Like the wheat in the field so your belly will swell
Now the sun is half up and betokens the hour
When the children arrive with their garlands of flowers
So now let the music and dancing begin
And touch the good heart of young Jack- in- the- Green

Mother's Child
04:59
|
|||
As the sun is going down
The horn is made to sound
And the pipe is passed around again
The child begins to tire
More wood goes on the fire
And the flames climb ever higher
This is how it was
And this is how it is
And so it will be forever
The Moon appears to say
Let the drums begin
Throw all your cares away and sing
For the music always was
And the music always is
And the music will play on forever
Come brothers, come sisters
If you are your mother's child
Come one and all
For you all are your mother's child
Feel her love, let not your heart grow cold
Come one and all and sing
We are our mother's child
For the Mother always was
And the Mother always is
And the Mother will be forever

Lyrics by P.Gill & Becky Taylor
D A
On every street corner they spell out his name
Bm G A
And the boarded shop windows all herald his fame
D Bm A
That they'll catch him and bring to justice they claim
G A D
Bill Posters is that man
At the scope of his mischief we only can guess
And he's no need to hide as they can't put a face
To the acts of defiance we read in the press
Bill Posters he's our man
Chorus (every 2 verses)
A D
Bill Posters, Bill Posters will be prosecuted
A D
For years upon years he has been persecuted
A D
But they'll never catch him, let no- one dispute it
G A D
Bill Posters he's our man
He was out with Ned Ludd, Captain Swing and the rest
At Hyde Park and Trafalgar he has sttood with the best
He was there when the strikers were put to the test
Bill Posters was that man
Making deals with the bosses, its alright for some
But when the courses of talks and inquiries have run
And its actions not words that'll get the job done
Bill Posters he's your man
Its only the rich man he'll do any harm
As he stalks their estates, pheasants under each arm
Or tickles the trout from the private fish farm
Bill Posters is that man
He's the brick through their window the car overturned
Where was he the night Windsor Castle was burned?
He will carry the fight on until they have learned
From Bill Posters our man
He's the one in the crowd with the egg in his hand
To hurl at the smug politicians who stand
Up and promise the earth whilst flogging the land
Bill Posters is that man
An industrial Robin Hood wielding a wrench
He'll disable the digger, he'll take down the fence
If its criminal damage with moral intent
Bill Posters he's your man
Our Bill, well he'll give it his very best shot
To bring down the rich,he'll get rid of the lot
A saint, a hero, a martyr he's not
He's Bill Posters, our man

Larksong
04:41
|

Are you as free as the bird on the wing?
Are you to make love? Have you freedom to sing?
Do you believe you can do anything
If you want to?
Have you swum with the salmon? With the swiftest deer run?
Have you soared with the eagle right up to the sun?
And with the lark in the morning have you sung out your song
To the world?
Does smiling come easy? Does you laughter flow free?
Do you cry when you see suffering and pain, like me?
Does the love in your heart match the depths of the sea
And the ocean?
I've sat on the hill felt the trees growing round
Seen the stars in the sky and felt joy all about me
I've smiled and felt the whole world smiling with me
Have you?
Does smiling come easy? Does you laughter flow free?
Do you cry when you see suffering and pain, like me?
Does the love in your heart match the depths of the sea
And the ocean?
I am as free as the bird on the wing
I have freedom to love I have freedom to sing
Together we can make real every thing
That we want to
We shall swim with the salmon, with the swiftest deer run
We shall soar with the eagle right up to the sun
And with the lark in the morning we shall sing out our love
To the world
